Shin conditioning
Among the many typical training systems adopted by Muay Thai practitioners, shin conditioning has always been one of the most spectacular, especially for beginners who approach Thai Boxing for the first time. In the past, shin bones were hardened by hitting banana trees, in motherland Thailand, since those trees have a soft surface and are perfect targets for a thai boxer’s strikes.

Nowadays Muay Thai fighters use boxing heavy bags, weighing between 50 and 60 kilos, to harden their shins properly.
A regular practice of heavy bag kicking is required to develop shin bones hard as steel, after a relatively short time, providing thai boxers with an extremely powerful weapon, useful both for attacking and for blocking the opponent’s attacks.
